[ Patty may be ignoring her confession, but that doesn't mean that Hubert is willing to turn a blind eye to it. He should have known. He wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and just chalk it up to poor navigation skills or sheer ignorance, but it seemed that he couldn't afford to give her even that much credit. Without a word, he stops what he's doing, letting the twigs he had started gathering fall to the forest floor.

He straightens his back and turns to face her when she joins his side, eyes colder than they normally are. ]

[ Said in the tone of someone who definitely did not mishear her. ] I thought I heard you say that you've been deliberately leading me in the wrong direction all this time...but you wouldn't dare waste my time in such a manner, now would you?
